A Level Geography Trip - October 2023
Geographers brave the elements to conduct fieldwork in Kingsgate Bay, Kent
A little bit of rain didn't stop the A-level geographers from heading out to Kingsgate Bay to conduct a study on coastal shaping processes and influencing factors. After analysing the geology, including lithology and structure, the students measured the sea arch and caves, as well as the beach profile at various points throughout the bay. The collected data will be presented and analysed in the classroom. This hands-on experience helped reinforce the theory learned in class and provided excellent preparation for their Year 13 independent investigation.
